What is GSA Approved?

The General Service Administration (GSA) is an entity that has already tested and approved of certain models and types of safes for the storage of valuable items.

Any document that is deemed classified by the federal government is required to be kept in a fireproof safe.

These safes have been classified 1-7, but currently only class 5 and 6 are being used regularly. Class 6 is the lesser rated class while class 5 is rated to resist and withstand forced entry. There is a significant price difference so you should determine what you need before buying the fireproof file cabinet.
